Natural Building Workshop hosted by Jacksonville's Permaculture Network

North Florida’s FIRST Annual Permaculture & Natural Building Workshop Weekend, Feb 15 – 18.

You’ll find lots of help starting your spring garden in local workshops this Jan/Feb. You can also discuss local climate change – help create a vision for Jax2025 – feast with wild felines – get trained in disaster preparedness – learn about Permaculture & Natural Building – buy discounted flowering trees – and attend the highly-popular “A Day of Gardening To Kick Off Spring” sponsored each year by the Duval County Extension Office.

Jan 19, 9am. $15 The Duval Extension Office will show you how to germinate seeds for your spring garden. You’ll take home a planted tray.  Reservations and pre-payment required.

Jan 19 & Feb 2.  The first of four events hosted by Jax2025. Share your input on how you’d like to shape our community’s future.  Jax2025 releases the vision May 18 (also in our calendar).


Get Trained In Local Disaster Preparedness

Jan 22, 6pm.  Free.  This 8 week course on Tuesday evenings qualifies you to join the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  Training covers disaster preparedness, communications, medical care, fire safety, terrorism, etc.  Sponsored by Duval County Emergency Management.

University of Florida IFAS ExtensionA Day Of Gardening – To Kick Off Spring

Feb 23, 9am.  $10 – $15.  This is a popular annual event sponsored by the Duval County Extension Office. This year’s topics include heirlooms, growing herbs, citrus, composting and much more!  Register early because it always fills up.
